Well....this game kicks some serious ass! Good job to the LDA team! I was seriously impressed.I also noticed you managed to solve alot of problems and stuff such as real time terrain deformation etc...but one thing interests me in your game. It's the way you did that wavey effect in your intro? The part where you show the LDA logo. That was kool! Can you tell me where I can grab hold of some code that does similar effect? Or if you can send me your code that would be cool too! <grin>
All in all,good job guys!

Hmm, my guess is that they used the Warble effect thats used in the game on a mesh. I know that the Intro and other screens are just a continuation of the 3d rendering engine applied onto a large 2D plane.

Take a look at the:
Entities\GUI\IntroNNNNN.ent files.

Random,

Right, the current intro screens use a fixed 33x33 vertex mesh that fills the screen, with texture coordinates which are modified by a 2D Perlin noise function. You can adjust the density of the mesh and the speed and density of the noise field in those .ent files.

Now for a REALLY NUTS level idea....

Make this vertical random noise routine be able to be applied to maps...

That'd be cool but I bet it'd eat up bandwidth like mad in multiplayer.
