Very similar . I've even been working on editing an weapon entity to make a mole - and it works. It goes in a nice U down, then back up, and explodes on the surface . The only thing I want is LAVA.

P.S. - I love Scorched Earth and also the game Charred (very similar, also Amiga).

I had to double check to be sure, but I'm friends with the author of Charr (Mike Boeh) as well as the author of Scorched Tanks (Mike Welch).

Coincidence?

Lava would be cool, but I'm not sure how best to do it. Lava in 2D artillery games is usually a flood fill type of algorithm, and imagine the huge space that would have to cover on a 3D map. Something lava-ish may be possible if I modify Spewers to be able to spew a bunch of entities (lava balls) and then immediately remove themselves.

That's what I thought when I first saw the game. "Bomb 3d. Awesome"

Bomb was along the same vein as Scorched Earth, but I thought it played a bit better. Just MHO.

Perhaps LDA could add a few other features of those games, such as MIRVs, Mortars, falling earth...
