Hi,

I'm trying to play rival ball over the network and it's still not functioning properly.

one system locks up, the other gets dumped to the high score screen.

one is win2k pro, the other is win98se. the one that locks up doesn't seem to matter, they take turns

It would be nice if customer service would reply to these questions about the problems with networking.

A occasional status report of "we're working on it" would be nice. A message on the Rival Ball page warning potential purchasers that problems have been reported with networking would go a long way towards customer satisfaction also.

E-mail tech support if you want immediate help. The bboard isn't monitored by the tech heads at LDA.

Yes...puzzled would be fair to say at this stage....

Plans...We're about to start a Mac Version of Rival Ball, which should be ready by the end of September.

In conjunction with the porting we will rework the PC code to get the networking to work better.

The new PC version will be a free upgrade, as was the recent upgrade to play DXB2 boards.

Will the mac version of rival ball be network compatable?

(I assume that would be involved in the re-write of the PC networking module, but one never knows )

I have a mac, and that would be cool! hehe

We are currently putting the finishing touches on the Rival Ball version 1.2 patch. It should be ready in the next few days.

Among other things, it addresses the crash problem between Windows 9x and W2k.

Regards,

Dylon
