My father gave me a copy of DX-Ball 2 and the following message came up when we clicked on the icon: "Fatal error--cannot find 680x480c16-bit display." Thinking that his version was corrupt, we downloaded a free version off of this site. It also will not run for the same reasons. We upgraded our directx files to the 7.0 version thinking that that was the problem, but the game still won't work. What do you think might be the problem?

It could be that your video card doesn't support 16 bit color.

Rt. click on a blank area of your desk-top, select properties > settings to check the display. With windows 95 you often have to set the display manually.

My computer display settings give me the options of 16-bit and 256 colour but the game doesn't work on either setting. Now what?

If those are the only two options available then you have 16 color and 256 color.

16 bit is also known as high-color and is 65,536 colors.

There are lots of second had video cards that can do high-color, and shouldn't be more than 10 bucks or so.
