Pab: Your sermonizing is liberal dogma, not Christian doctrine. Christ was not a hippie who sat around telling everyone to make love not war. He in fact said that he came to bring the sword, not peace. His teachings were meant to affect personal salvation. His talk of love was a one on one affair. He did not sermonize to governments. Christ's teachings weren't aimed at Caesar. They're aimed at you and me. When it comes to government actions, take a look at the Old Testament. God ordered Israel to commit the wholesale slaughter of evil cultures. Did God hate those individuals? Of course not. But he hated their cultures and saw fit to wipe them form the Earth. My hate of the militant wing of Islam is fully justified and VERY Christian in exactly the same way. As individuals we must spread the good news. But God established governments for a very different purpose. Wiping out the enemy is one of them. Christ taught Governments no change from that model. And we're doing so a lot more mercifully than God did in the Old Testament.

Matrix: Some days you can be a real maroon (a little Bugs Bunny lingo there). I NEVER criticized you for those tanks. I supported you!!! Of course you'd NEVER take my word for it. After all, I am evil incarnate. So here ya go: /forums/archive/ubb/Forum2/HTML/002348.html
Furthermore, the one time where I did suggest publicly that you were a racist was followed by a public apology in a thread started exactly for that purpose - not buried in a long thread as a single sentence reply. I might add that you are completely incapable of such public humility. So anyway, yeah – blow it out your peashooter or sod it or whatever term floats your boat best. :^P

BTW, that is one of my favorite misconceptions. That is, the whole notion that Christ was a lovey dovey pile of mush. A great example of that is the very incorrect translation where the angels supposedly said "Peace on Earth. Goodwill towards men.". The correct translation, and some Bibles get it right, is "Peace on Earth. Goodwill towards those who love Him.". So what is the implication for those who don't love Him? Hmmm...

Yeah, you may want to move the thread. We're making the atheists and humanists uncomfortable.

iras: (btw, did you know that iras translates to spanish as anger, lol.
(I'm also glad I didn't send the original response to you ) (I think I'll e-mail it to you though ) perhaps you either the only to appreciate it/follow it
Anyways, quick remarks though: (quoting you)
Pab: Your sermonizing is liberal dogma, not Christian doctrine.
Christian doctrine?? I didn't know there was one absolute! you mean the catholic one? or..protestant... or lutheran... or..??
Christ was not a hippie who sat around telling everyone to make love not war.
Really? lol. like daa!
He in fact said that he came to bring the sword, not peace.
Uhm yeah, but you don't know if you're one of the plants to be trimmed..
...take a look at the Old Testament. God ordered Israel to commit the wholesale slaughter of evil cultures. Did God hate those individuals? Of course not.
Actually he did, and he does hate, that's why he sent the angel of death more than once around evil doers. But, G-d ordered wars to prophets not mere people... pfft.
My hate of the militant wing of Islam is fully justified and VERY Christian in exactly the same way.
Of course I don't like the extremist muslims , but you've referred to them (Islamic culture) as a whole evil culture so far... hence my observations....

Well shazaam! I knew that irascible means easily angered in English, which is why I chose the name. But that it might mean something similar in Spanish is just shocking.

Read again Pab. I never said I hated Muslims as a group. I hate the militant wing. And I accuse the moderate Muslims of being complacent, which clearly they are.

Of course there are many variations on Christian doctrine. That is beside the point.

Sigh. Yeah. I do know if I'm going to be trimmed, as you put it. Salvation isn't a mystery. It's pretty straight forward.

Sigh again. He hated. But he did not hate those individuals. He hated their actions and their malevolent culture. But he loved those individuals as much as you and me. It seems you have a 666 like problem of reading but not understanding. :P

Finally; you're using your heart more than your head.
As for the 666 comment. I'll let that one slide...

Just a slight correction: Girls love it. They want their boyfriends to be their girlfriends so that they have yet one more person to call and blather on to incessantly about absolutely nothing. Domineering women who are fearful of getting hurt and therefore want control love it as well. Their soft man will let them wear the pants in the relationship, which makes them feel safe.

Healthy masculinity certainly must have its soft component. It just shouldn't be defined by it. You can have your Clinton-esque "I feel your pain" manhood. I'll take the stoic John Wayne types over that any day of the week. John Wayne types get things done while Clinton types are having feelings about things that they might get done. :P

yeah, but the only kisses John Wayne got were from acting; lol. (William C. wasn't an actor, nor he got kissed in the mouth, lol).
sigh, do I need to specify every single point of view from any remark...?
(Men that let their women run the relationship are biatches,,, lol).. I'm talking soft as Jim Morrison soft, not Jim Carrey soft,.... then again, if you're dating Melissa Joan Hart (damn, did a search and realized she got married ...
...anyways, if she was single, and I could date her... maybe I'll be a biatch too.............................................................then again ....... maybe until the honey moon it's over...............then again .......

Jim Morrison? His profanity was legendary. His ability to whip up a crowd into profane orgy was the same. His hatred of the world and especially of his parents would do Eminem proud. His taste for booze would do Liza Minelli proud. There was almost no drug he didn't do. And there was no woman he wouldn't do it to and then treat like trash, while at the same time doing it to his wife (who later wacked herself).

You mean THAT Jim Morrison?

you forgot the philospher, actor, poet, composer, and great singer (he was an alcoholic more then anything, womanizer yes, even Marc Anthony was LOL. (even)... his wife didn't wack herself! she overdosed with heroin...(not on purpose as most of them Jim pushed masses to chaos because he wanted to reveal against squares like you :P but he was a nerd too lol. A rock star with more knowledge than a teacher in these days... yeah, that Jim Morrison

Ah. I see. So we are talking about the same vulgar, drunken, womanizing addict of all vices imaginable who happened to of strung a few notes together.

There's talented people who spread good things but happen to be human and therefore flawed in some fashion or another. And then there are those who revel in their depravity and spread evil at every turn. Jimmy was the latter. One's talents can't justify so much purely sick behavior. The message and the messenger are inexorably linked. If Christ taught as he did but lived an evil life, his message would have been dismissed and he would have had no impact on history. Jimmy may have had some talents, but his life was so vile and corrupt that his talents are imminently dismissible. Yeah, I know they weren't and that's fine. There are always plenty of mindless stooges with money that would buy from Satan himself if he put out a hit record. But I am not one of them. If you wish to extol the virtues of that piece of dirt, knock yourself out.

sigh, I'll take that you think that the Beatles are evil too...lol.
I appreciate Jim for what he offered artistically. (He's extremely under-rated).
If I'd judge everyone for their actions, we're all going to HELL!!!

The issue isn't that we've all fallen. Of course we have. But some of us fight that nature and some of us brazenly embrace it. To recognize the distinction is a judgement. But it is NOT judgemental in the negative sense that you imply. To be without judgement is to be a fool. I don't think you're that. But statements like this...
"A rock star with more knowledge than a teacher in these days.
...make the clear implication that you look up to HIM. His artistic talents may be worthy of recognition, as you stated after that quote. But HE was a drunken fool worthy of no respect whatsoever.

And for the love of whatever, don't you dare deny you're obvious admiration for that pond scum. First you site him as the model for being squeezably soft. Then you extol his amazing intelligence. It's one thing to appreciate the artistry. It's another to appreciate the artist. How you could appreciate such a vile creature is beyond me.

Overdosing on drugs IS wacking yourself. :P

All I'm worrying it's dial-up connection from hundreds of hops away
