Wow. A side of you I've never seen before Knight... stand up comedian. Though you were probably sitting down. Anywho, you've got a good start but it needs some work. Remember that brevity is the soul of wit. So shorten it up a bit. And all good humor has some basis in reality. So I'd try taking the crack pot factor down a couple percentage points to, say... 99%. But all in all you should be encouraged. It was quite amusing. IP: |

It seems as if you people don't want half baked ideas... hmmm... ok... I'll keep them to myself. Oh, one thing I would like to mention, with the new pack (and possibly previous ones), is it possible to make it an install file, or something, for the newbies? I mean, I know how to add it into the directory and all, but I mean, some people may not know what to do with them. I do suggest using Winzip's Self Extractor program that you can find at http://www.winzip.com . It is just another idea of mine... ------------------ =MOD= FISH!!! Whee!!! RB/RBT/TM anyone? ppl install tm in their own folder tree paths so an auto detect upgrade would be needed, sumthin that would read tm's install registry key.IP: |

Oh, I see... I wonder if you could use the Microsoft Windows standard (.msi) or another standard... hmmm... this time, I do not have any place to refer to... oh well... I still think this is a good idea... ------------------ =MOD= FISH!!! Whee!!! RB/RBT/TM anyone? Team Game :D Firefox 1.0 Rocks!!! IP: |

I wonder if this could be included into ENTegrity somehow..... so that they not only get packs properly, but so they land in the right place too, maybe even using Dreamers java include where you have to point to your install of tm and it does the rest (thats Tmapper btw) (for those who like me have multiple installs of the game fr modding purposes.IP: |

I believe you may be on to something, and I do like where this is going/this idea, however, I may be a computer guy, but I still don't know how to write a program... good thoughts however... ------------------ =MOD= FISH!!! Whee!!! RB/RBT/TM anyone? Team Game :D Firefox 1.0 Rocks!!! IP: |

look at the installer that sailor made for the storm mod. It installs and also un-installs the mod.IP: |

That was what I was thinking of... in a sense, it seems to make things more organised, and I like organised... ------------------ =MOD= FISH!!! Whee!!! RB/RBT/TM anyone? Team Game :D Firefox 1.0 Rocks!!! IP: |

An installer is simple you just ask where the base directory is and then ensure that everything gets in the right place and backs up anything that may need to be restored if uninstalled. I did that with the Storm Mod of Jvortex's making. Just made it so a current install could be converted to a Storm Racer install and returned to the pre-install form if required at a later date.------------------ May you always have a following Sea a cool breeze at your back and the comfort of those you hold nearest to your heart. Which is basoicly the exact same thing as going into winzip... clicking EXTRACT (with folder options on), and pointing it to the folder where your tm.exe file is.....How easy do ya want it ? The installer for Storm was (and had to be) unique because of the extensive modding within, it requires its OWN addons folder, and a series of changes happening during install, which, if i remember rightly included a rename of your existing addons to addons2 or whatever before it installed... Not everything is cut and dry [This message has been edited by =DNX= Matrix (edited January 02, 2005).] IP: |
